When a child you love is undergoing cancer treatment, you know that medicine isn't all that's needed. That's where the Austin Wade Foundation comes in. From personal experience with childhood cancer--from both the parent's and the child's perspective--as well as a keen desire to lend a hand, we provide you with the financial assistance you need to not just make it through. We want you to know that No One Fights Alone.

Who qualifies for financial assistance from the Austin Wade Foundation?

The families of children under the age of 18 undergoing cancer treatment, residing in Alexander, Clinton, Edwards, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Massac, Perry, Pope, Pulaski, Randolph, Saline, Union, Wabash, Washington, Wayne, White, and Williamson counties of Southern Illinois.

How can I apply?

Fill out the application form (see our Home page) and mail it to the address listed at the bottom, as well as a hard copy of a doctor's verification of cancer diagnosis for the child.

How is assistance given?

The financial assistance will come in the form of a one-time check, provided annually to the family of the child as long as he or she is undergoing cancer treatment and assistance is requested. Currently the annual check gift amount is $3,000.00.

How does the Foundation receive funding?

We are 501(c)(3) not for profit organization, meaning that all of our funding comes through fundraisers. Our Board members are volunteers. Our primary source of funding is the annual Austin Wade Foundation Memorial Give Back Golf Scramble, which takes place in August at Pine Lakes Golf Course in Herrin, IL. We also gladly accept and appreciate donations.

How can I help?

We're glad you asked! You can help by spreading the word about the organization, as well as donating to the organization, and/or participating in the various activities surrounding the Memorial Give Back Scramble. Check our Facebook page for updates on when/how to take part in a golf team, T-shirt orders, hole sponsors, 50/50, raffle, or the silent auction.
